Reason for Loss | Aircraft took of at 2030hrs for a night navigation exercise flight. The last wireless signal, responding to a QDM, was at 0053hrs. The radio operator stating "I will call you back later". Approximately 5 mins after this transmission the aircraft crashed into the ground 2 miles east of Castletown and 5 miles east of Thurso, Caithness. |
