Miscellaneous Information
Ross was born on 8 July 1921 at Heamor, Derbyshire, England. His father was born at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He had a sister Rose Marie. He attended the Empire School 1926-1934 as well as Moose Jaw Technical High School, Saskatchewan. His hobbiy was photography and he enjoyed baseball, tennis and hockey. Ross worked as both a clerk and a truck driver. |
He enlisted in October 1939 and after training was posted to the U.K. He embarked from Canada on 11 December 1942 and arrived at 3 PRC on 19 December. He was at 81 OTU on 25 May 1943 and then continued to 1662 CU on 21 August 1943, and 166 Squadron on 12 November 1943. Sadly Ross then lost his life on 8 June 1944. |
