Miscellaneous Information
Originally buried in the cemetery at St-Maurice-aux-Riches-Hommes but his family later requested that his body be moved to the Terlincthun War Cemetery at Wimille, near Boulogne. |
In 2006, 'Les Amis de la Chapelle' - a local history group in St. Maurice, decided to erect a monument to Sgt Pickford at the side of the field at La Chaume where he died. Its design mimics the 'M' shape of the monument on site at Mailly-le-Camp - the Panzer tank camp which he and his crew mates were bombing on their last sortie. |
