Miscellaneous Information
Lloyd was born on 19 October 1921 at Burnaby, British Columbia. His father was born at Capelton, Quebec and was a Mill Worker and his mother was born in London, England. He had a sister Doris May. The schools he attended were Nelson Avenue, Burnaby 1927-1935 followed by Hugh Fraser, also Burnaby 1935-1939 (Jnr Matric). His sport interests were ice hockey and baseball. He was also interested in Poster Art as a hobby. Lloyd worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia, New Westminster as a Bank Teller, 1939- 1942. He enlisted on 14 August 1942 |
After training he was posted to the U.K. and embarked from Halifax on 1 November 1943 arriving at 3(RCAF) PRC on 10 November 1943. He then went to 9 (0)) AFU 7 Mar 1944, 11 Base 30 June 1944 and 101 Squadron on 21 August 1944. Sadly, Lloyd was to lose his life on 13 September 1944. |
