Miscellaneous Information
Charles was born on 22 February 1919 at Petersfield, Manitoba. His father was born at Lucknow, Ontario and was a farmer and his mother was born at St. Andrews, Manitoba. He attended school in Petersfield between 1925 and 1934 (general) and then at Clandeboye between 1937-1938 (Matric grade X). He spent four weeks with the Winnipeg Light Infantry at Portage. For sport he enjoyed target shooting and hunting. Between 1939- 1941 he worked on his father’s farm. |
Charles enlisted on 30 June 1941 and after training was posted to the U.K. He arrived at 3PRC on 24 March 1942, 7 AGS 23 May 1942, 26 OTU 23 June 1942 and 150 Squadron 14 September 1942. Sadly Charles lost his life on 31 October 1942. |
