Reason for Loss | Aircraft took off from Skellingthorpe at 2213 hrs detailed to attack targets in Nurnberg. While on the outbound flight was hit either by flak or cannon fire from a night fighter. Within seconds of being hit the Lancaster exploded over Wildbreitbach 12 km East of Sinzig. Aircraft claimed as being shot down by Obit Martin Becker of 2./NJG6 5 km North East Bad Honningen |
