An all-round sportsman who excelled in tennis, table tennis and competitive motorcycling. He was a finalist in the News of the World tennis competition and the Evening News Cup. In 1936 he won the Croydon Advertiser Open Singles Tennis Cup. He was a member of Wickham and Carsholton motor cycle clubs and won the Wickham Junior Cup on a 350cc BSA over a four mile course. |
