George was born on 4 October 1920 at London, Ontario. His father, who was incapacitated at the time of George's enlistment, was born in London, Ontario, and living at St. Clair, Michigan, USA. His mother was also born in London, Ontario. They are shown as Canadian citizens living at St. Clair, Michigan. He had brothers Harold and Frederick and two sisters Mae and Lenora. There were also four deceased siblings. The schools he attended were St. Clair High, 1926-1939. (Engineering) and Port Huron Jnr. College , Port Huron, Michigan. No sports or hobbies are shown. George worked at the St. Clair Inn as a hotel clerk (hotel admin) between 1941 and 1942. |
He enlisted on 2 March 1942 at Windsor, Ontario and after training was posted to the U.K. The only movements shown in his records are: 17 OTU 13 July 1943, 1661 CU 3 October 1943, and 57 Squadron 8 December 1943. Sadly George is then shown as having lost his life on 3 January 1944. |
