Miscellaneous Information
Arthur was born at Ontario on 15 November 1922. His father, who was deceased by the time of Arthur's enlistment, was born in Ottawa and had worked as a Customs and Excise inspector. His mother, also deceased, was born at Fort Coulonge, Quebec. He had two married sisters, Mrs Jean Francis Evans and Mrs Helen Bogart. The schools he attended were St. Alban’s, Brockville, Ontario. 1928-1937 followed by Trinity Collegiate, Port Hope, Ontario. 1937-1942. Here he was in the Cadet Corps as an AC2. Arthur worked for Domestic Government Airways, Malton, Ontario as a Chain Man in the summer of 1941 when he was still a student aged 21. The sports he enjoyed were basketball, football, baseball, and swimming. |
