Miscellaneous Information
Clarence was born at Aneroid, Saskatchewan on 20 November 1917. His father, a farmer, was born at Aneroid, Saskatchewan and his mother was born in Sintaluta, Saskatchewan. He had a sister, Doris. Clarence went to Tweed School 1924-1931 (grade 8) followed by Warren school 1931- I935 (grade 11). He worked on the farm at home in Aneroid with his father, between 1935-1941 when he then enlisted on 17 November 1941. The only sport he occasionally participated in was boxing. |
After enlistment and training Clarence was sent to the U.K. and embarked from Halifax on 26 August 1943. He arrived at 3 PRC on 2 September 1943 and went on to 9 (O) AFU 12 October 1943, 28 OTU 1 January 1944, 11 Base 11 April 1944, and 625 Squadron on 14 June 1944. Clarence was to lose his life shortly after arrival, on 1 July 1944. |
