Miscellaneous Information
Survived crash 7/12/44 but was injured as he bailed out. Taken to Weidenhausen for interrogation after which he was taken into the woods and shot 10/12/44 and his body placed in a shallow grave. His body was discovered in August 1945. His death was investigated by a pathologist in the US Army and the evidence handed to the British which ultimately led to a trial. Konrad Manfred was found guilty and sentenced to death, which was eventually commuted to 20 years imprisonment.
