Den Hoorn, Hemmerkooi. Op deze plats stortte in de vroege avond van 17 December 1942 een bommenwerper neer van het type Lancaster met registratie W4126 KM-B Er waren 7 bemanningsleden. Alleen G.A. Read kon zich met een parachute redden, hij werd krigsgevangen gemaakt. De andere 6 bemanningsleden kwamen hierbit om het leven
Translation "Den Horn, Hemmerkool. On this site in the early evening of December 17, 1942, a Lancaster bomber registration W4126 KM-B crashed. There were 7 crew members. Only G.A. Read was able to save himself with a parachute, he was made a prisoner of war. The other 6 crew members lost their lives" |
