Arthur was born at Toronto, Ontario on 8 November 1921. Both parents were born in Ontario. His father, a dentist, at Workworth and his mother at Toronto. He had sisters Ruth, Mary and Marie, He attended St. James's School 1927-1934, St Michael’s 1934-1939, and then Runnymede Collegiate Institute, 1939-1940 for a Business Course. Arthur went to work for Canada Packers in Toronto 1940-1941. The sports he joined in were hockey, football and softball. |
He enlisted on 19 January 1942 and after training was posted to the U.K. He arrived at 3PRC on 5 June 1943 then continued to 4 AOS 15 June, 29 OTU 13 July 1943, 51 Base 15 March 1944 and 44 Squadron on 11 June 1944. Shortly afterwards, on 22 June 1944, Arthur very sadly lost his life. |
