Miscellaneous Information
Edward was born on 19 February 1918 at Newmarket, New Hampshire, USA. His father, a furniture polisher, who was deceased by the time of Edward's enlistment, was born in St. Valere, Quebec and his mother was born in Manchester, New Hampshire. He attended the Academie St. Louis in Montreal, 1925-1933 (2 years High). He also took a W.E.T.P. Course at Montreal University. Edward’s main sport interest was swimming and his hobby was music. Between 1933 and 1941 he worked as a Polisher for Eastern Furniture in Victoriaville and then went on to Sterling Furniture, based in Montreal 1941-1942. |
Edward then enlisted on 6 May 1942 and after training embarked from Canada for the U.K. on 22 October 1943. He arrived at 3 (RCAF) PRC on 31 October and then went to 2(0) AFU on 25 January 1944, 30 OTU. 28 March 1944, 11 Base 16 June 1944 and 166 Squadron on 10 August 1944. Sadly, Edward lost his life on 14 October 1944. |
