Born 1 March 1916 in Aberdour, Fife, Scotland. His father was an Electrical Artificer 3rd class Royal Navy, and worked at the Top Secret Hydrophone Experimental Station at Hawkcraig Point in Aberdour (the forerunner to today's Sonar submarine detection system) and died of Influenza/Pnuemonia at the Royal Naval Hospital South Queensferry on 9 November 1918. He is buried at St. James Cemetery, Copt Hill, Dover, Kent. |
