Miscellaneous Information
Thomas was borne at Tamworth, Ontario on 22 May 1918. His father, a farmer, was born at Tamworth, as was his mother. The schools he attended were Tamworth Consolidated 1924-1930 then Tamworth Continuation 1931-1938 (Snr. Matric). He enjoyed playing softball and also rugby and swimming occasionally. Thomas worked at Loblaw’s Grocery, Toronto during 1938-1939 as a fruit shipper and then joined the police force where he was a Police Constable at the University of Toronto, 1939-1940. |
He enlisted on 20 August 1940 and when initial training was over, sent to the U.K. He arrived at 3PRC on 19 May 1941, was at 22 OTU on 24 May 1941 and was killed on 26 June 1941. This was from a training flying accident in Warwickshire, England. |
