Reason for Loss | Aircraft was hit by flak over Boulogne and again from a flak ship anchored off Calais, which damaged the port engine. On nearing Clacton, the order to bale out was given, the tail gunner landed safely on land, the rest came down in the sea and four were drowned Ditched off the coast near Clacton, Essex. Body found off the coast near Clacton, Essex. |
