Ervin was born on 25 January 1921 at Keeler, Saskatchewan. His father was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and worked in the wholesale petroleum business and his mother was born in Wisconsin, USA. He had a brother Jack and a sister Marilyn Gail. The schools he attended were Wilson Public School 1927-1935 (Grades 1-8) Bedford Road Collegiate. 1935-1939 (part 11) (Junior Matric ) Saskatoon Tech. 1939-1940 (motor mechanics). The sports he was involved in were hockey, football, softball, swimming, fishing and shooting. Making model aeroplanes was his hobby. Ervin worked for the Hudson Bay Company as a part time clerk 1939-1940 and then for Great West District, Saskatoon as a chauffeur from 1940 until enlisting on 8 April 1942. |
Ervin sadly lost his life on 30 January 1944, five days after turning 23. |
