Reason for Loss | Attacked by a Me110 , injuring the pilot. Then attacked a second time, again by a Me110, killing the navigator and fatally injuring the wireless operator. After the bombs were successfully dropped, the flight engineer took over the flight, assisted by the other, uninjured crew members. Against the odds, they successfully made it back to an emergency airfield and performed a belly landing since the hydraulics were badly damaged. |
