Miscellaneous Information
| James was born at Canso, Nova Scotia on 17 August 1913. His father, a wholesaler, was born at Canso and his mother was born in Scotland. He had a sister Jean. His first school was Lossiemouth Public school, in Scotland, 1920-1921 followed by Public School at Canso 1921-1923 and Public School at Port Hawkesbury 1923-1929. He was then at Hawkesbury High School , Nova Scotia, 1929-1931. His sport interests were hockey and basketball and boating and photography were his hobbies. James worked for his father, R.E. Jamieson, as a foremen for four years and then as a salesman with White & Company between 1935-1940. |
| He enlisted on 6 June 1940 and after initial training he was sent to the U.K., where he arrived at 3PRC on 2 March 1941. He went to 15 OTU on 15 March 1941 and then to Middle East Command on 23 June 1941. Very sadly James then lost his life from 15 OTU on 1 July 1941 |
