Miscellaneous Information
Wesley was born at Edmonton, Alberta on 5 December 1914. His father, a Broker, was born at Hanover, Ontario and his mother at Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. He had two brothers, William Alexander and John Arthur. The schools he attended were. Westmount School, Edmonton, 1921-1927 followed by Westmount High School, 1927-1932 (both were academic courses). His sport interests were golf and bowling. Wesley worked as a traveller for J. Hunt 1932-1934. He was then a clerk between 1934-1940 for both B. Shragg and C. Woodward (all in Edmonton). This was followed by working as a Tool maker between 1940-1943 for Whitehall Machine & Tool Co., in Galt, Ontario. |
He then enlisted on 31 May 1943 and after training, embarked for the U.K. on 16 June 1944. He arrived at 3PRC on 25 June 1944, then went to 1 (0) AFU on 19 September 1944 and 24 OTU on 6 February 1945. It was from there that Wesley sadly lost his life just two months later on 5 April 1945. |
