Miscellaneous Information
One of the four members of the crew of DV361 EM-V that survived an aircraft bailout with no injuries on 22 December 1943. A month earlier DV361 has been involved in a collision with another Lancaster whilst on a bombing mission to Berlin and was severely damaged in the front section of the aircraft. The crew flew the aircraft back to base with the Pilot and Navigator suffering from severe frostbite they were awarded the DFC and DFM medals for their bravery. The aircraft was repaired at 55 Base, RAF East Kirkby. |
