Miscellaneous Information
Harold was born on 15 January 1920 at Maryfield, Saskatchewan. Both parents were born in Lincolnshire, England and his father was a farmer. There is no record of any other family members. Harold attended Amethyst school 1926-1928, Confederation school 1928-1937 and Maryfield 1937-1939. His sport interests were baseball, football, and softball and his hobby was photography. He worked as a labourer with his father on the farm 1939- 1940 until enlisting on 27 June 1940. |
After training Harold was sent to the U.K. where he arrived at 3PRC on 2 May 1941. He then went to 1 S.S 10 May 1941, 21 OTU 9 August 1941, and 12 Squadron on 14 October 1941. Harold sadly lost his life on 14 July 1942 from 12 Squadron. |
