Miscellaneous Information
Born 10 May 1914, Coventry. The family emigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1920 with the two eldest sons, a third son was born in Canada. Basil found a job as a machinist in Akron, Ohio at the Goodrich Rubber Company, he moved his family to his new job and a fourth son followed. In 1932 the family returned via Liverpool. His father Basil died in 1937 in Coventry. The 1939 register has Bernard and Ethel living at Riverside Road, Sidcup, Kent. Bernard was a Police Constable. Bernard's probate showed Ethel living in Senhouse Street, Maryport, Cumberland. |
Oblt. Hans Karl Kamp was killed in action on 31 December 1944 when his Ju88G-10 was attacked and shot down by an American P51. |
