Miscellaneous Information
Harold was born on 19 May 1914 at Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. His father (a machinist) was born at Fredericton, New Brunswick and his mother was born in Bingley, Yorkshire, England. He had one married sister, Kathleen (Muir) and two brothers Walter Ogden and J/22356 F/O Francis Edward, who was a navigator with 90 Squadron and was tragically also killed on the same day as brother Harold. He went to Rocky Mountain House public school 1920-1929 and continued 1929-1933. Between 1935-1938 he attended the Provincial Institute of Technology studying Aero engines. From 1938-1939 he took on odd jobs and then became an Aircraft mechanic with Fleet aircraft from 1939 onwards until enlisting. His hobby was photography and for sport he enjoyed tennis, softball and badminton. Harold enlisted at Fort Erie on 3 July 1942. |
He very sadly lost his life shortly after his marriage, on 26 August 1944 and on the same day as his brother J/22356 F/O Francis Edward Good (http://losses.internationalbcc.co.uk/loss/210663). |
