Operation | Transit flight to the Middle East via Gibraltar. |
Reason for Loss | Left Gibraltar but did not arrive at the destination. All of the crew of six survived and made it on board the life raft. Drifted for six days without food or water in very rough seas. It was clear to the rest of the crew that F/O George was missing his fiencée and mother. He said a short prayer and slipped out of the dinghy and into the water. It wasn't clear to the remaining crew whether or not he did so deliberately. |
