Translation "On the evening of 26 November 1943, Lancaster DV 285 of 101 Squadron R.A.F. was shot down here, by German fighters, with its cargo of bombs as it flew to its objective, Stuttgart. Lost their lives in this bomber: Sgt J.K. ROBERTSON, Sgt S.N. MAYER, P/O. A.W. GADD, Sgt R. STOTT, Sgt K.N. HICKLIN. Taken prisoner: P/O A.J.S. WALKER, Sgt. R.A. HERDITCH. Rescued by the Resistance: P/O. J.G. BLANDFORD who inaugurated this stele on June 25, 1994." |
