Reason for Loss | On the night of 4th/5th September 1942 this unidentified aircraft crashed landed on return to Snaith airfield following an operational flight to Bremen. The unit ORB states that the rear gunner had been wounded in combat with the enemy. The airman listed below is believed to have sustained the injuries and he died on 6th September 1942, presumably in Pontefract Hospital as his death was registered in Pontefract. |
