Stortte in der nacht van 10-11 Mei 1944, en Brits-Australische bommenwerper neer een kleiput van de Steenbakkerij Dumoulin in de wijk Hagebos in Langemark. Het vleigtuig de Lancaster MkI LL882 van het 463 (RAAF) Sqn was tijdens de terugulucht na bombardement op Rijsel neergeschoten Messerschmitt Duitse nachtjager. Alle zeven bemanningsleden kwamen hierbij om
Translation "During the night of May 10-11, 1944, a British-Australian bomber crashed into a clay pit at the Dumoulin Brickworks in the Hagebos district of Langemark. The aircraft, Lancaster MkI LL882 of 463 (RAAF) Squadron, was shot down by a Messerschmitt German night fighter during the return flight after a bombing raid on Lille. All seven crew members were killed." |
