George was born on 29 August 1915 at Virden, Manitoba. His father (who was deceased by the time of George's enlistment) was a farmer born at Picto, Nova Scotia and his mother was born in Bruce County, Ontario. George had a brother who was away in the army. He attended Lenore Consolidated school 1921-1927 (Entrance) and again in 1930-1934. He then attended Success Business College, Manitoba in 1936 studying junior accountancy. He had gained High School grade XI, junior Matric and part Senior. The sports he took part in were curling and baseball. He also enjoyed music. George ran the Frame’s Farm where he had worked with full responsibility for the past five years since his father’s death in 1936. |
He enlisted on 15 April 1941 and the only movements shown in his records are: 3PRC 26 December 1941 and then 15(P) AFU 13 April 1942. George sadly lost his life on 12 September 1942. |
