Miscellaneous Information
Lambert was born at Pembroke, Ontario on 6 June 1917. Both parents were born at Pembroke and his father died in 1937. He had two sisters, Madge and Colleen and two brothers Adrian and Vincent. The schools he attended were Lord Tennyson 1923-1931, (general course) and Kitsilano, Vancouver, 1931-1933 (grade 8). Football was his sporting interest. His occupation was as a welder. Lambert worked as a Mill helper at Relief Arlington mines from 1934-1940 and he was then a Mill operator at Premier Mines, Premier, British Columbia between 1940-1942. During 1942, Lambert was a welder at Burrard Dry Dock. |
He enlisted on 17 December 1942 and after training embarked from Canada on 5 March 1944. He arrived at 3 PRC on 15 March 1944, then went to 30 OTU 28 March 1944, 11 Base 16 June 1944, 626 Sqn 10 September 1944, 11 Base 22 September 1944 and 153 Squadron on 16 November 1944. He lost his life later that month on 29 November 1944. |
