In de vroege ochtend - uren van 6 November 1940 stortte nabii deze plaats een vliegtuig neer van de RAF het toestel keerde terug van een bombardement op het duitse Maagdenburg de bemanning kwam bij de crash om het leven en werd op 11 November 1940 begraven op de Ned. Herv. begraafplaats te Ootmarsum. Hampden X2907 van 50 Sqn
