Reason for Loss | Died on active service 8 June 1943 at Towcester, Northamptonshire "On June 8th 1943 emergency aid to personnel in Wellington aircraft which crashed from 16 OTU. The crew were dead. The Fire Tender overturned, killing one and injuring three of the crew". Although it does not give service details, it is reasonable to assume that it was 1550823 AC1 Randolph M. CRAWLEY who died in this incident as his death was registered in Towcester approx 4 miles from RAF Silverstone in Northants. |
