| Reason for Aircraft Loss | Aircraft took off from Stanton Harcourt at 2300 hrs detailed to carry out a cross country training flight. It is thought that structural failure occurred as at around 0210 hrs the Whitley dived into the ground and burst into flames at White House Farm, Brightwell, 2 miles West of Wallingford, Oxfordshire. There were no survivors. |
