Miscellaneous Information
James was born on 2 March 1920 at Niagara Falls, Ontario. His father was born at Niagara Falls and worked as an Agent and his mother was born in London, England. The schools he attended were Huron Street school 1926-1934, then Central Technical school in Toronto. His sporting interests were tennis, mainly, but also baseball and soccer. James carried out farmwork at Vineland, Ontario, in the summers as a truck driver and then enlisted on 31 December 1940. |
After training he was posted to the U.K. and embarked from Canada on 3 November 1941. He arrived at 3PRC on 14 November and then went through RAF Cranwell 9 December 1941 and 25 OTU on 17 February 1942. Sadly, James was to lose his life from 25 OTU on 1 August 1942 |
