Miscellaneous Information
Colin was born at Vernon, British Columbia on 17 July 1923. His father had been a rancher, born in L’Original, Prescott, Ontario and his mother was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He had a married sister, Agnes Doreen. Another sister, Elizabeth, had died in December 1926 when she was aged fourteen. The schools he attended were Kelowna Public 1929- 1937 (General) and Kelowna High 1937-1941 (General). High school entrance and junior Matric. His sport interests were badminton, basketball and ping-pong and photography was his hobby. There was no occupation shown for Colin apart from odd jobs during the summer holidays, as he was still a student. |
He enlisted on 20 September 1941 and after training, embarked from New York on 9 March 1943. He arrived at 3PRC on 18 March 1943, 14 OTU 30 March 1943, 1654 CU 20 May 1943 and 49 Squadron on 3 July 1943. |
