Reason for Loss | Shot down by Hptm. Wilhelm Herget of Stab I./NJG4, detached to 3./NJG1 in a Bf110-G4 from Venlo airfield (his 32nd victory and his first of three that night). Crashed at Asten-Heusden 10km SSE of Helmond, Netherlands. The aircraft jettissoned its bombs in the Astense Peel river damaging a nearby farm, although there were no civilian casulaties. All of the crew were initially buried in Mook War Cemetery and re-interred to Jonkerbos War Cemetery in December 1947. |
