Miscellaneous Information
Reginald was born on 27 August 1921 at Sudbury, Ontario the son of Peter James Burke and Dora Burke (Quesnel). His father was a Swifchman for CPR, born in Ottawa and his mother in Mattawa, Ontario. He had three sisters Valerie, Evelyn and Shirley. His sport interests were golf and hockey. He attended St. Thomas's school 1927-1935, followed by Sudbury Technical school, 1936-1938. Reginald then undertook clerical work at the international Nickel Company of Canada Ltd.between 1938-1941 and he then enlisted on 13 December 1941. |
After training he was posted to the U.K. where he arrived on 5 November 1942. He then continued to 7 AGS 23 January 1943, 1657 CU 14 March 1943, 214 Sqn 16 April 1943, and 620 Squadron on 17 June 1943. Sadly Reginald then lost his life on 25 June 1943. |
