| On the night of 16 October 1940, during the Blitz, a German parachute mine hit one end of Queen's Buildings on Scovell Road. Forty-one people were killed in Shelter No.1 at that location including Henry's Father (45 years old), younger Sister Eileen Louisa Bristow (20 years old) and younger Brother Edward Charles Bristow (16 years old). |
