Reason for Loss | Damaged in a Schräge Musik attack by Htpm. Eckart-Wilhelm von Bonin of II./NJG1 (from Deelan airfield), casuing the starboard outer engine to catch fire. Undeterred, "Dave" Davis remained at the controls, allowing four of the crew to bale out, three of whom became PoW, Sgt. Know, however, was found by a farmer and with the help of the Resistance evaded capture and returned to England. |
