Reason for Loss | Shot down by a night-fighter flown by Oblt. Paul Gildner of 1./NJG1 between 2105 and 2116 hrs over the sea 15-20km North of Vlieland. Gildner had three claims over the sea this night, 2 were confirmed, the third not seen could not be confirmed. Gildner was killed 5 nights later returning from a patrol, his BF110-G4 suffered an engine fire and crashed at Gilze-Rijen. |
