| Henry was born on 24 November 1913 at Winnipeg, Manitoba. His father was a retired school teacher born in Anoka Minneapolis, USA and his mother was born at Muskoka, Ontario. He had a brother, George. He attended Stony Mountain and Darlingford schools in Manitoba, 1919-1922. His sport interests were hockey, baseball and curling, and his hobby was motor mechanics. Between 1928-1930, Henry had been a private in the Cadets. He also attended Night School at Kelvin St. John, Winnipeg between 1935 and 1937. He had been a Salesman for J.E. Sirett & Co. Insulating. He is shown in his enlistment papers as being a part time labourer for 3 years and full time for 4 years. |
| After enlisting on 13 October 1940 and carrying out basic training Henry was posted to the U.K. and embarked from Canada, arriving at 3PRC on 17 July 1941. He then continued to 19 OTU on 20 July 1941. Sadly four months later, Henry was to lose his life on 26 November 1941. |
