Born 12 February 1919, Toronto. Gordon had been a motor mechanic. He enlisted as an Aero Engine Mechanic, he remustered to F/E whilst serving as an engine fitter on 420Sqdn at Waddington, course 18A at 4 S of TT, St. Athan, 30 September 1942 - 21October 1942 to 1654CU on 3 November 1942 and 14 February 1943 to 44 Sqdn. |
A memorial was placed close to the crash site in 2013, 70 years to the day after the incident. Members of the airmens' families were in attendance. |

Reason for Loss | Shot down at 22:13 hrs by a night-fighter flown by Oblt. Gerhard Raht of 5./NJG3. Crashed into the Lille Baelt, 2km from Middelfart and close to the bay bridge. Before crashing it was engaged by a flak ship and hit again, by which time it was already on fire. |
