Miscellaneous Information
Angus was born on 25 April 1923 at Carman, Manitoba. His father, a blacksmith was born at Glenelg, Ontario and his mother was born at Redwood City, Wisconsin, USA. He had two brothers Duncan and Joseph and two sisters Catherine and Mary Ann. He attended Carman School from 1929 through until 1941. The sports Angus took part in were hockey, skiing, tennis and badminton. He was able to drive a tractor and his hobby was carving. Between 1935-1940 he worked as a delivery clerk for M. Dorfman and then worked as a clerk at McLeod’s Ltd. from 1940 onwards. |
Angus enlisted on 6 May 1942 and after training was sent to the U.K. He arrived at 3 PRC on 21 May 1943, 6(0) AFU 15 June 1943, 17 OTU 13 July 1943, 1661 CU 3 October 1943 and 57 Squadron on 30 December 1943. Angus sadly lost his life on 22 June 1944. |
