Miscellaneous Information
Mentioned in despatches September 1941. DSO Gazetted 3 April 1928, 84 Squadron, Iraq. On 30 January 1928, F/L Kellett force landed due to engine failure near rebel tribesmen. Barrett promptly landed and emplaned Kellett, who took his machine gun aboard to prevent it being captured by the tribesmen. |
His DSO and Bar to the DSO were promulgated without citations in the London Gazette on 2 April 1928 and 28 March 1939. The latter appeared under the general title "The KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the undermentioned rewards in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in the Aden Protectorate". |
