P/O Alves's father was a merchant living and working in the capital of St. Kitts, Basseterre. Joseph was born on St. Kitts on 1 January 1922, the youngest of three children. He had two sisters, Bridget and Lillian. Known to his family as Sonny. Attended the St. Kitts Convent High School where he took his school certificates in 1940. Trained in both UK and Canada and passed through 1667 HCU, Faldingworth. |
