Miscellaneous Information
Born on 30 October 1919 at Niagara Falls. His father worked as a Craneman and Rigger and was born in Italy and his mother was born in Montreal, Quebec. They lived in Temperance Avenue, Niagara Falls. He want to the Memorial School 1926-1934 , then four years at Niagara Falls Collegiate Institute where he took his Matric Course. Joseph then spent a year at the Niagara Business College 1938-1939 (Business course). Joseph also spent 3 years with the Lincoln Welland Signals. He had worked as a Draftsman and Chainman. Joseph spoke three languages: English, French and Italian. |
He enlisted on 12 August 1940 and after early training embarked for the U.K. on 9 December 1941. Arriving at 3 PRC on 19 December 1941 he was then at 2 AOS on 2 January 1942, 16 OTU 7 April 1942 and eventually ended up at 106 Squadron on 17 August 1943. |
The sports he took part in were rugby, hockey, tennis, ping-pong and golf and his hobby was astrology. |
