Reason for Loss | LAC Sztuba was working to disconnect a central, metal part of the wheel of a Wellington IV. Suddenly, for unexplained reasons, the tyre burst and LAC Sztuba was launched into the air (inside a hangar). He was thrown onto the aircraft's wing and from the wing he fell to the ground. He was also hit by bolt from the wheel during the incident. He died an hour later in the station infirmary. |
