Reason for Loss Northampton Mercury, October 17th 1941: AIRMAN'S DEATH IN NORTHANTS COLLISION. An inquest was opened by Mr. J. Cairns Parker, the East Northamptonshire Coroner, at Kettering, last night, on an airman, A.C.2 George Edward Smith, who died in Kettering General Hospital that morning. He was a passenger in a car which was in collision near Cranford with Stanley B. Callum, a motor-cyclist of Tichmarsh.
