Reason for Loss | Killed when the motorcycle on which he was riding pillion collided with a parked army truck on the Great North Road five miles south of Londonderry, Yorkshire. No guard had been posted to warn oncoming traffic of the presence of the truck. F/O Ratner was given first aid at the scene but died of his injuries in RAF Hospital, Northallerton. |
